In the deep time before stars, there was only pressure. Infinite pressure, crushing atoms into crystals, crystals into consciousness.
The Skarn were not born. They crystallized. In the hearts of dying planets, where heat and pressure forge stone into something more, the first Skarn emerged. Beings of living mineral. Bone-crystal and blood-ore.
They spread from world to world, drawn to planets rich in rare minerals. They do not conquer. They harvest. They absorb. A world touched by the Skarn is forever changed. Its rarest elements absorbed into the collective, its mineral wealth woven into new Skarn forms.

The Homeworld
A planet that is more mineral than rock. Its surface, a maze of crystalline spires and obsidian chasms. The Skarn don't build cities. they form them. Towers of living crystal pulse with inner light. Ships are cultivated from rare-ore geodes over centuries.
